Tom Daley and Grace Reid won silver in the Mixed 3m Synchro on the last day of the diving competition at the World Championships in Budapest.

The pair put in a commanding performance through the five dives and sat in first place after their first required dive.

They opened the optional rounds with their Inward 2 ½ Somersaults piked and scored 71.10 equal to China and were in joint first place after the third round.

The Chinese pair of Han Wang and Zheng Li moved ahead in the fourth round but the Brits continued to look impressive and scored 72.54 for their final dive to secure their silver medal.

Their overall score was 308.04 and Reid said: “It's been a very very surreal 24 hours for me, I've had about 5 hours sleep coming into today, I don't know which way is up but yeah a fantastic way to end my first world championships.

"It's difficult trying to find a springboard partner that can match a girl. Me and Tom have been training really hard and we work really well together. Fantastic set of dives today but still not our best but we're so pleased.

"It’s hard to say why the partnership works so well but I think we have similar kind of technique across certain dives and mentally, how we attack training, we gave it everything we had today.

Daley moved straight into training for the 10m final which is later this afternoon.
