The Aquatics GB Diving Championships will return to Sandwell Aquatics Centre next summer, while the newly named Aquatics GB Next Gen Diving Championships head to Edinburgh in April.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games pool will for the third consecutive year provide the backdrop for crowning British diving champions, with the 2026 Aquatics GB Diving Championships bringing the nation’s leading divers together at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre across the 4th-7th June. The event, as previously, will play a key role in British senior team selections for the target international meet of the season – which next summer centres on the opportunity to compete at the European Aquatics Championships taking place in the Paris Olympic Aquatics Centre from 31st July to 6th August 2026.
Ahead of the flagship senior domestic competition, the Aquatics GB Next Gen Diving Championships – formerly known as the Elite Junior Diving Championships – will descend on the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh for four days of competition across the 9th-12th April 2026.
Under the new name these championships will continue to provide athletes developing through the performance pathway an important competitive test against the best divers in their age categories [Group A - 16-18 years; Group B - 14-15 years; Group C - 9-13 years] and offer the prize to win medals on the national stage.
Competition schedules, event condition, athlete entry and spectator ticket information for both the Aquatics GB Diving Championships and Aquatics GB Next Gen Diving Championships will be shared in due course, with the latest details available on their respective dedicated event pages.
Speaking on the announcement, Aquatics GB programme lead for diving Matt Ashman said:
“It’s great that we can now confirm these dates and venues for both the Aquatics GB Diving Championships and Aquatics GB Next Gen Diving Championships to our diving community.
“Both Edinburgh and Sandwell are incredible facilities, and along with the previously announced Aquatics GB Diving International in Ponds Forge, Sheffield, we’re looking forward to working with a wonderful set of partners and stakeholders across each site to deliver an incredible event programme in 2026.
“We know our athletes are always excited by these opportunities to get onto the boards and platforms to contest for British titles and I’m looking forward to see who can put their front foot forward to challenge for selection to our British junior and senior teams - not just as we assemble for our 2026 international fixtures but as we journey through the cycle towards LA and beyond.”
The Aquatics GB Diving International is your first chance to witness incredible diving action in 2026 - with the three-day competition hosted in Sheffield across 30th January-1st February. Tickets are now available to purchase online at www.aquaticsgb.com/AGBDI26
