The Aquatics GB Diving Championships are returning to the Sandwell Aquatics Centre for a second successive year, with the nation’s leading divers competing in events across the 5th-8th June as they bid for places on this summer’s world championships team.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games pool will provide the backdrop for the crowning this year’s British diving champions, with the event playing a key role in the selection of the World Aquatics Championships team aiming to follow up a memorable Paris Olympics and record-breaking performances across the international stage.
Scheduled across the opening two days of diving action are the individual 1m springboard and 3m springboard events - along with the respective Men’s and Women’s Platform Synchro medal contests rounding out the Thursday 5th June afternoon finals session – ahead of the weekend programme showcasing the individual platform and 3m Synchro competitions.

Incredible performances at last year’s competition witnessed Jack Laugher (Men’s 3m Springboard), Yasmin Harper (Women’s 3m Springboard), Noah Williams (Men’s Platform) and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix (Women’s Platform) each claim British titles in Sandwell - all prior to each of them featuring heavily in a historic summer as part of the unprecedented clean sweep of synchro diving medals for Team GB in Paris, as well as Noah claiming bronze in a captivating Men’s Olympic Platform affair.

With the Diving Winter Cup raising the curtain on the competition calendar year, the World Aquatics Diving World Cup series culminating in the Beijing Super Final starting tomorrow, and a team of 11 talented divers contending the Senior European Championships towards the end of May, the homecoming of Britain’s top divers to Sandwell alongside the emerging pathway talent is a great chance for fans to get up close to the action ahead of this summer’s world championships in Singapore.
Athlete entries are now open for the event with further information available on the dedicated event page. Full spectator ticket details will be announced across Aquatics GB channels in due course, with updates available by joining our mailing list.
Speaking on the announcement, Aquatics GB programme lead for diving Matt Ashman said: “It’s great that we are once again able to bring the Aquatics GB Diving Championships back to Sandwell, following on from the success of last year’s Olympic trials event in this arena.
“We know our athletes are already looking forward to getting onto the boards and platforms to contest for British titles and crucially the individual discipline world championship team places, as we look to move things on from what was an outstanding Paris 2024 Games and build further chapters into our nation’s rich diving history on the international stage this summer.
“Each year this event serves a great opportunity for the young and upcoming athletes to make their mark, and I’m excited to see who can put their front foot forward to provide challenge to our senior divers - not just as we assemble our worlds team for Singapore but as we journey through the cycle towards LA.”
