Dixon and Williams take World Junior silver

Matthew Dixon and Noah Williams have won a platform synchro silver medal at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships.

In a close fought competition the British duo held off the Ukrainian challenge from Yevhen Naukenko and Oleh Serbin by just 0.57 points with 304.65 and 304.08 respectively..

The Brits had struggled with their optional dives in the first two rounds, but pulled out three more consistent dives in the latter rounds. Their best coming in round four - an inward 3 1/2 somersault - scoring 78.72.

The gold went to China's Zheng Li and Junjie Lian on 328.44.

Both then made the final of the individual platform event, with Dixon coming fifth on 513.00 and Williams on 484.10. 

Elsewhere in the competition Tyler Humphries finished ninth in the B Boys 3m final and Scarlett Mew Jensen and Yasmin Harper came sixth in the A/B Girls 3 m Synchro
