Five medals for British Divers

26 Feb 2018

Britain’s divers came away from their first FINA Grand Prix of the year with five medals.

Matty Lee and Lois Toulson brought home two medals each – a silver together in the synchro mixed platform, and a further synchro platform medal for Lee alongside Kyle Kothari. Toulson then added a bronze medal in the 10m platform.

Ross and Jack Haslam picked up second place in the 3m synchro with a PB score of 407.46 with Millie Haffety and Scarlett Mew Jensen winning a third place spot in their first 3m synchro competition together.

The weekend saw many divers come close to their PBs, with Matthew Dixon the only junior to make it to the platform final, finishing 5th overall.

Team Leader Kim White said: “We came out here with realistic expectations as it was a competitive field with some of the world’s best divers taking part.

“To come away with three silvers, two bronze medals and four top six places has been a fantastic result for our young talent.”

Our divers will next be in action in the FINA Diving World Series in China from March 9 to 11.

Here Olympic Champions Jack Laugher and Chris Mears and World Champion Tom Daley will join Dan Goodfellow, Matty Lee, Grace Reid, Katherine Torrance and Lois Toulson.
