Fourth World Cup title for Hunt

Great Britain’s Gary Hunt claimed his fourth consecutive FINA High Diving World Cup title this weekend in the Chinese city of Zhaoquing.

Throughout the competition, held in the first-ever permanent high diving facility in the world, Hunt controlled proceedings, perfectly executing combinations with high degrees of difficulty to amass an impressive 436.70 points total.

In the last round, he performed his signature dive – a Back 3 Somersaults 4 Twists (DC) - for which he received 145.60 points, the highest score of the competition. In addition to consecutive titles since 2016, the British great was 2015 World Champion in Kazan (RUS). Alongside focusing on trying to retain his Redbull Cliff Diving crown, Hunt will also focus on success at the World Championships, which take place in Gwangju, South Korea in July.

Silver was claimed by David Colturi of the USA, his final score was 400.20 and Romania’s Constantin Popovici punched in a point’s total of 397.60 for the final podium spot and bronze. In the women’s competition won by Rhiannan Iffland, Britain’s Jessica Macaulay finished in 12th position.
