Fuji Silver for Daley and Reid

Tom Daley and Grace Reid have claimed silver on the third and final day of the Fuji leg of the 2018 FINA Diving World Series.

The London-based pair delivered a strong and consistent list of dives and remained in medal contention throughout the final to finish with 299.15 points.

Daley and Reid’s best dive came in the third round of the final, an inward three and a half somersaults in pike position, scored 72.00 and guaranteed a podium finish.

Gold went to Wang Han and Li Zheng of China with 328.50 and bronze to Russia’s Nadezhda Bazhina and Nikita Shleikher with 299.10 points.

Earlier in the week Dan Goodfellow and Tom Daley were in action in the Men’s 10m Synchro event, where the pair narrowly missed out on a podium spot, finishing fourth with a total of 379.80 points.

China took gold with 449.91 points, silver went to Russia (418.02) and bronze to the pairing from Ukraine (410.46).

Dan Goodfellow took the boards in the Men’s 3m Springboard and after both semi-finals were complete he ranked 10th and did not progress through to the final.

Following on from their bronze medal at the opening leg of the 2018 World Series in Beijing, Matty Lee and Lois Toulson were back in action in the Mixed 10m Synchro.

Lee and Toulson narrowly missed out on replicating last weekend’s result, finishing just over 15 points from claiming a bronze medal, with a final score of 303.18.

Gold went to China who dominated and led from the start, finishing with 355.74 points. Russia took the silver medal (325.65) and hosts Japan the bronze (315.26).

London-based Grace Reid ranked third in her Women’s 3m Springboard semi-final and progressed into the World Series final where she finished sixth with 297.90 points.

China continued the domination of the medals in Fuji claiming both gold and silver with 388.05 and 359.90 points respectively. Bronze went to the diver of Russia who recorded a total of 326.15 points.

In his second event of the weekend, Matty Lee lined up in the Men’s 10m Platform, he ranked seventh after six rounds of diving with 430.60 points meaning he did not progress to the final.
