Gold for Bower and Banks

Ruby Bower and Phoebe Banks have secured gold in the 10m Synchro after a strong performance at their first European Championships. 

Bower and Banks (City of Leeds) kept their composure through their first European final to score a total of 299.19 points. 

They were competing against Olympian Yulia Timoshinina (Russia) and held their own sitting in second place after the required rounds. 

The pair saved their best until last when they secured 72.90 for their Front 3 1/2 Somersaults Piked. 

Silver went to Timoshinina and Valeriia Belova (Russia) with a score of 297.00 and the bronze was won by Valeriia Liulko and Sofiia Lyskun (Ukraine) with 288.96 points. 

Freddie Woodward finished in 11th place in the 1m Springboard with a score of 330.20.
