2 Jan 2018

Adam Smallwood has been appointed as the new High Performance Diving Coach at Leeds.

Adam, who has spent the last 10 years coaching at City of Leeds Diving Club, will take responsibility for the development of talent alongside Marc Holdsworth.

Having worked with Junior Elite Groups for the last five years, achieving national and international medals, he will now be looking after Olympic Gold Medallists Jack Laugher and Chris Mears.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to being able to focus on the high profile athletes themselves and support them through competitions.

“I will be working with some great talent with nine GB divers being based at Leeds, and more young talent coming through.”

Drawing on previous experience Adam will be aiming to prepare squads for the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast next April and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Adam has experience working across all areas of the discipline, from strength and conditioning, gymnastics, physiotherapy and psychology.  His first focus in the role will be the British Diving Championships which take place in Plymouth from 26th to 28th of January.
