Synchro silver for Laugher and Mears

A highly competitive Men’s 3m Synchro final saw world championship bronze medallists Jack Laugher and Chris Mears claim a silver medal. 

The pair established a solid foundation in the required dives with Laugher and Mears registering 99.60.

Their best dive came in the sixth round of the final, a score of 88.92 with their Front 4 ½ Somersault tucked boosted them to silver medal position with a closing score of 423.24 behind Russia’s Ilia Zakharov and Evgenii Kuznetsov.

Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow won their fourth synchro medal of the 2016 FINA/NCV Diving World Series in the Men’s 10m Synchro event in Kazan, Russia.

The pair dived consistently in the required rounds to secure 102.00 points ahead of the optional dives.

Their fifth round dive, a Front 4 ½ somersault tucked, with a score of 94.35 moved them up the rankings to third.

The final dive confirmed their bronze medal at the final leg of the 2016 Diving World Series behind China and Russia respectively with an overall score of 442.59.

This bronze medal means Daley and Goodfellow have finished second in the overall series rankings.

In the Women’s 10m Synchro, Tonia Couch and Lois Touslon finished in fourth place with a score of 294.30. The pair also took third place in the overall rankings for the series.
