Tom Daley’s Glasgow 2018 ones-to-watch

27 Jun 2018

The Commonwealth Gold medallist may be missing out on the European Championships this year as he aims to get back to full strength, but that does not mean he won’t be cheering on his British teammates.

Here he tells us his ones to watch for the competition at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh.

“Grace is coming into the Europeans as Commonwealth Champion in the 1m event, and a finalist in the 3m – and won the London 2016 Europeans with me in the 3m synchro. We’ve won four silver medals together this year at the FINA Diving World Series and as well as a great diver she is a great friend.

“She moved down from Edinburgh, where the Europeans are taking place, to London last year and I know she’s excited to go back and compete there again.”

Jack and Chris

“Jack and Chris are Olympic Champions and Commonwealth Champions – just one of three Gold medals for Jack in Australia. These two have had quite a few injury problems since Rio but are always exciting to watch, and know how to pull out a performance when it really matters.”

When to catch them:

Men’s 3m synchronised competition Friday 10th August 1.15pm to 4.30pm

“Matthew and Noah definitely gave myself and Dan Goodfellow a good competition on the Gold Coast, taking the silver medal overall. Matthew is based at my home town of Plymouth and Noah trains with me in London and given they have both only just turned 18 are very exciting prospects for the future.”

When to catch them:

Men’s 10m Synchronised Competition Thursday 9th August 1.15pm to 4.45pm
