Toulson and Birch secure Platform final

8 Aug 2018

British divers, Louis Toulson and Robyn Birch, we’re back in action on the third day of diving competition in the Women’s 10m Prelims and both booked themselves into the championships final.

Toulson had a steady prelims that saw her ranked second after the five rounds of diving with a score of 284.10.

The Leeds-based world championships silver medallist dropped her Armstand Back 2 Somersaults 1 1/2 Twists (6243D) in the third round but remained composed to qualify for the medal contest later today.

"For me it was an ok prelims, some of my dives weren't as refined as I wanted them to be and I dropped my third dive but the main thing is that I'm through to the final.

"There's plenty of room for improvement in the final and hopefully I can do well," said Toulson

Birch also guaranteed her berth in the European Championship final after she finished the morning session placed eighth with a score of 250.70.

Her best dive came in the fourth round, a Forward 3 1/2 Somersaults Piked (107B), which scored 58.50 and ensured her safe passage to final.
