A team of eight British divers have been selected to compete in France for the Seven Nations Youth Diving Meet from 25 – 26 March.

Scarlett Mew Jensen (Dive London) has shown her potential by reaching the final of the 1m and 3m Springboard events at the World Junior Championships and will go into the Seven Nations event eager to continue her development.

City of Leeds’ William Hallam and Anthony Harding reached the finals at the British National Diving Cup in Plymouth at the start of the year.

The Brits have won the title for three years in a row and for Team Leader Julian Bellan it is a great opportunity for the young divers to prove they have what it takes to compete against the continent’s best divers.

“For the last three seasons we have topped the medal table, however, this year we expect tough opposition from Switzerland and Germany,” Bellan said.

“This event provides the opportunity of preparing our junior teams not only for the coming season but the coming four-year cycle.

“The team is comprised of eight divers; four female and four male contesting in Springboard events on 1m, 3m and 3m synchronised with team points are awarded for places 1-12 in each event.

“The Seven Nations is the first International of the junior 2017 season. It provides the opportunity for new squad members to gain vital international experience.”
