EISM inc. British Champs safety warning to visitors

28 Feb 2018

Edinburgh International Swim Meet incorporating the British Swimming Championships will go ahead as planned this weekend.

Visitors to the event are advised to follow Met Office weather warnings after snow fall across Scotland, and only to travel when it is safe to do so.

A spokesperson for the event said: “While we want to put on the best event possible, the safety of our swimmers, coaches and fans must come first.

“We will endeavour to keep everyone updated should any more bad weather occur over the coming 24 hours, however our aim is to run the event as scheduled.”

The red weather warning across Edinburgh has impacted roads, flights and trains, but current indications are that the weather should improve by Friday. Updates from the Met Office can be found here
