Large flies to Gold at EJC2018

Emily Large has picked up her second and Freya Anderson her third gold medal of the European Junior Championships.

The 17 year old won the 100m butterfly in a dead heat time with Anastasiya Shkurdai. In a race with two dead heats Keanna Macinnes came in joint sixth. 

Anderson picked up her third medal, after 100m freestyle and 4x100m relay, this time in the 50m race.

Earlier on in the session Tom Dean, fresh from a gold and bronze in yesterday's session was fastest qualifying for the 200m freestyle event.

In a session packed with semi-finals Nick Pyle finished first in his 50m backstroke race, coming in fourth in the final. But despite being the third race of the evening he was still able to play his part in the 4x100m mixed medley relay alongside Archie Goodburn, Emily Large and Freya Anderson to earn a silver behind the Russians.

Lily Boseley finished in second place in the 100m backstroke semi with Lauren Cox finishing sixth.

Jacob Peters narrowly missed progressing to the 100m butterfly final despite a third place finish, Lewis Fraser coming in fifth.

In the 100m breaststroke both Tatiana Belonogoff and Katie Robertson progressed to the final with Archie Goodburn doing the same in the men's event. Gregory Butler finished in the first reserve spot.

The 800m freestyle final saw Nathan Hughes finish in ninth and Will Bell finish in 19th place.
