O'Connor shows potential ahead of final

Olympic silver medallist Siobhan-Marie O'Connor secured lane four after a strong morning heat that saw her dominate the race on the penultimate day of action at the British Swimming Championships. 

National Centre Bath's O'Connor controlled her heat from the start and reached for the wall ahead of National Centre Loughborough's Abbie Wood. In the overall rankings Hannah Miley (Aberdeen Performance) sits in second place just ahead of Wood. 

British Champion Max Litchfield swam an excellent heat swim in the 200m Individual Medley to finish in the first place before tonight's finals. 

City of Sheffield's Litchfield sits ahead of Edinburgh University's Mark Szaranek and University of Stirling's Dan Wallace. 

Olympian Ben Proud (Plymouth Leander) sits in charge in the 50m Freestyle after beating off competition from Thomas Fannon (Plymouth Leander) and Miles Munro (Bath University).

Stockport Metro's Holly Hibbott scored the fastest time in the women's 400m Freestyle ahead of Olympic silver medallist Jazz Carlin (National Centre Bath) and Hannah Miley (Aberdeen Performance).

In the 50m Backstroke, Georgia Davies (Loughborough University) holds the top spot.
