Proud secures World Cup silver

Britain secured two medals on the opening day of the Dubai leg of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup.

Ben Proud claimed Men’s 50m Butterfly silver over two lengths of the Hamdan Sports Complex pool.

Proud was joined on the podium by South Africans Chad Le Clos and Roland Schoeman who took gold and bronze respectively.

Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist James Guy also returned to competitive action in Dubai and claimed bronze in the Men’s 400m Freestyle.

Guy rounded off the podium that was topped by Australian Bobby Hurley and Myles Brown of South Africa headed home with silver.
