13 Dec 2017

Adam Peaty claimed bronze in the Men’s 50m breaststroke on the opening night of the LEN Short Course Swimming Championships in Copenhagen.

Peaty clocked a new personal best time of 25.70 to secure the third place podium spot in a race that saw a new European Record of 25.62 set by gold medallist Fabio Scozzoli of Italy.

Also in action for Great Britain during the first finals session of the 19th Short Course champs in the Danish capital was Emily Large in the Women’s 400m IM final.

Large served up a strong swim to finish eighth overall after facing a tough line-up that included the Rio 2016 Olympic Champion Katinka Hosszu.

Earlier on day one of the championships Ross Murdoch went in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke and ranked 24th after the heats.

Loughborough-based Jocelyn Ulyett finished 23rd in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke.
