Swimmers continue to impress in Glasgow

World bronze medallist Jazz Carlin returned to the pool for the 800m Freestyle after her victory in yesterday’s 200m Freestyle at the British Swimming Championships in Glasgow.

The National Centre, Bath swimmer dominated her heat as she secured first place on the overall rankings for tomorrow’s final.

Keri-anne Payne (Warrender) and Camilla Hattersley (City of Glasgow) also put in steady swims in their heats to be second and third fastest.

European 100m Backstroke Champion secured first place into tonight’s final for the same event after a steady swim in this morning’s heats. He will be pushed through the two legs by Xavier Mohammed (City of Cardiff) and Liam Tancock (National Centre, Loughborough).

National Centre Bath swimmer, Lizzie Simmonds, looked strong in the morning heats of the 100m Backstroke as she claimed lane four for the final. Francesca Halsall (National Centre, Loughborough) and Georgia Davies (National Centre, Loughborough).

Bath University’s Jay Lelliott was the stand out swimmer in the 200m Butterfly after ranking the fastest ahead of tonight’s final. Mark Szaranek (Edinburgh University) and Cameron Brodie (University of Stirling) will take lanes five and three respectively after their swims this morning.

Molly Renshaw (National Centre, Loughborough) will lead out the final of the 200m Breaststroke after a promising swim in this morning’s heats. Chloe Tutton (City of Cardiff) and Georgia Coates (City of Leeds) also impressed to take second and third place overall.
