Wild and Maine progress to final

Cassie Wild set a new personal best as she and team-mate Anna Maine progressed through to the final of the 50m Backstroke at the World Junior Championships.

Competing on the fourth day of competition, Wild (Ellesmere College) lowered her personal best to 28.45 which was set in the heats and qualified for the final in fifth place with Woking's Maine just behind in sixth. 

Amy Bell (City of Sheffield) so set a personal best in the 200m Individual Medley after she touched in 2:15.24.
