Four-time IPC World Champion Amy Marren clocked two British short course records at the first stage of the Essex County Age Group Championships in Basildon.
Marren also clocked personal bests over 50m Butterfly (33.52) and 50m Breaststroke (42.00) as well as reaching the 15-years 100m Backstroke final and finishing fourth amongst able-bodied rivals in 1:10.69.
The teenager – who was named on the top 10 shortlist for last year’s BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year – will compete at April’s British Gas Swimming Championships in Glasgow where she will aim to book a spot on the English team for the Commonwealth Games.
Paralympic champion Jessica-Jane Applegate was also in record breaking form over the weekend as she beat her long course S14 800m Freestyle British record at the Norfolk County Championships.
Competing amongst able-bodied swimmers, the 17-year old finished third overall in the 16 years and over age group in 9:47.29.
