Matt Wylie and Hannah Russell lowered the British records in the 50m Freestyle after a storming heat swims on the last day of action at the British Para-Swimming International Meet 2016.
Wylie (S9, City of Sunderland) touched the wall in a time of 25.96 to secure his name on the national standard he leads the way into the final with a score of 907.
Ryan Crouch (S9, Team Ipswich) is second into the final with a score of 865 and a time of 26.37 with Lewis White (S9, City of Derby) third after clocking 27.22.
Russell (S12, Woking) secured a time of 27.22 and gained 965 points to take the top spot ahead of the finals. She is joined by Steph Slater (S8) and Steph Millward (S9).
Bethany Firth (S14, Ards) had another strong swim in the heats of the 200m IM and leads the way to the final with a time of 2:23.97 and holds a total of 946.
National Performance Centre swimmer Ellie Simmonds is second with a time of 3:08.92 and a score of 865. UEA Norwich’s Jessica-Jane Applegate (S14) is third in the rankings with a time of 2:28.68 and 859 points.
Sascha Kindred (S6, Hereford) secured the top spot in the 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:42.88 and a score of 924. Paralympic Champion Ollie Hynd (S8, Nova Centurion) is second with a time of 2:26.74 and a total of 886. Beckenham’s Kahoru Harazawa (S10) is third with a time of 2:17.44 which is a new British record.
