Fergus is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer of Swim Wales, and a member of the company’s board of directors. Fergus joined Swim Wales in 2016, bringing more than 20 years of executive & senior management experience in high profile corporate change management to his role within Welsh Sport.
Fergus specializes in leading business transformation and ‘vision critical’ operational delivery and in his career to date has worked across several industries in the UK & Ireland as well as internationally in Switzerland, US, Germany, China, Japan, Finland & Sweden.

Fergus is responsible for setting corporate strategy and direction at the National Governing Body, and through his talented team manages all day to day company activity including membership consultancy/advice, sales & marketing, sponsorship, partnerships, elite sport/national squad programmes, health & wellbeing and political advocacy. Fergus represents Wales on the International Federation (Aquatics GB) Board of Directors and holds other committee positions such as GB Water Polo Liaison and Nominations Committee member.
Outside of aquatics he is an elected non-executive director of the Welsh Sports Association and the Vice Chair, advising Welsh Government and Sport Wales on Sport policy and resilience. Fergus is also a newly appointed non-executive director, governor and trustee of Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Over the past 8+ years Fergus has developed a clear understanding of not only how sport contributes to the wellbeing of people in Wales through education, health and communities policy, but the power of sport as an inspiration for future generations.
