The British Para-Swimming International Meet 2018 will take place from the 31st May – 3rd June at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.
The meet has once again been chosen to form part of World Para Swimming’s World Series which saw its inaugural circuit of competitions in 2017.
The fifth leg of the 2018 World Series will see the Para-Swimming elite converge on the city of Sheffield for four days of world class action and also the British team selected for the European Championships in Dublin later in 2018.
British Para-Swimming Head Coach, Rob Aubry said, “It’s great that the British Para-Swimming International Meet 2018 will again be part of the World Para Swimming World Series, which will see a range of elite athletes from other key para-swimming nations attending and raising the calibre of the event.”
“The meet will also double up as our selection trials for the European Championships in 2018 which is taking place in Dublin. It’s a great opportunity to select our current best and, up and coming athletes to start to strive for the top spots as we start to move through the Tokyo 2020 cycle.
“It’s really important to British Para-Swimming that our event is recognised as one of the leading events on the para-swimming calendar and we will again see the inclusion of the skins event, first trialled by ourselves in Sheffield last year and proved to be a great success.”
