"The girls showed great spirit in the pool and we look forward to developing further as a team,"

- Nick Buller

In their first match the GB girls met a Germany U19 team for whom the tournament was their final preparation before participating in the World under 19 Championships the following week. GB were competitive for three quarters but the more experienced Germans pulled away in the final quarter to win 14-7.

Second up was Serbia. At halftime GB were trailing 6-4 but strong counter attacking overpowered the Serbs in an impressive 9-0 second half performance. The final score was GB 13 Serbia 6.

The final match was against Dutch national league team SGHA. This was a close game throughout and ended in an 8-8 draw. GB's extra man success played a key part in this game (three scored from four) and overall for the tournament GB's extra player success rate was an impressive 83%.

The Dutch and Serbians drew to ensure that GB took second place outright.

Head Coach Nick Buller said "This was an encouraging first international tournament for us. The girls showed great spirit in the pool and we look forward to developing further as a team, as we aim to qualify and ultimately perform at our best in next year's European Games".
