McMillan receives New Year’s honour

Paralympian Diane McMillan has received an MBE for her services to Swimming and Disability Awareness.

In her career McMillan represented ParalympicsGB at both the 1988 and 1992 Paralympics Games and won a total of six medals (two gold, one silver and three bronze) as well as breaking world records.

Michael Beard who is a Water Polo coach and Chair of Solihull Swimming Club was awarded a BEM (British Empire Medal) for his services to the sport.
